The northern location of the Regional Almond Variety Trial is hosted by Chico State University at the University Farm. Come by the farm at 9 a.m. to hear about the newest varieties, see some of the preliminary data, and judge which trees you want in your next orchard.

July 11, 2017. Join Emily Symmes (Sacramento Valley IPM Advisor) for the Monthly IPM Breakfast Meeting. The meetings will rotate throughout the Sacramento Valley & cover timely pest management topics. All growers, PCAs, and CCAs are welcome to join in the discussion.

The latest research and how it impacts your management practices. The meeting will include researcher presentations (30-45 minutes each) followed by Question and Answer sessions (30-45 minutes) to help growers and PCAs plan to apply research results ahead of the pruning season.

November 14-16, 2017 in Visalia, CA. This course is designed for orchard decision makers, and covers the basic science, not as experimental data, but as accepted science that supports current and developing production practices including regional differences.

The Fruit and Nut Research and Information Center at UC Davis is offering a two-week extension course focused on understanding basic fruit and nut tree biology and physiology and how it relates to agronomic practices. Understanding the fundamentals of tree biology is essential in making sound orchard management and business decisions in the fruit and nut trees industry. The course is taught by UC Davis faculty, extension specialists and farm advisors.
