June 12, 2017 – Our temperature sensors suggest codling moth degree day accumulation at 1063 with a possible second biofix which we will need to verify with additional trap data. We are still catching scale crawlers as of 6/12/17.
June 5, 2017 – Our temperature sensors suggest codling moth degree day accumulation at 943 with a possible second biofix which we will need to verify with one more trap check.
May 30, 2017 – Our temperature sensors suggest codling moth degree day accumulation at 792. No evidence of the “1B” yet. Notice the second biofix for oriental fruit moth on May 25, 2017 in almonds near Red Bluff. The first walnut scale crawlers on Chandler and Howard were detected on May 30, 2017 near Red Bluff.
May 22, 2017 – Our temperature sensors suggest codling moth degree day accumulation at 598. No evidence of the “1B” flight yet. No scale crawlers yet. They are a little late compared to previous years.
May 8, 2017 – As of 5/8, we have had no female codling moth or scale crawlers.
May 1,2017 – As of 5/1, we have had no female codling moth or scale crawlers.
April 24,2017 – As of 4/24, we have had no female codling moth or scale crawlers.
April 17, 2017 – As of 4/17, we have had no female codling moth or scale crawlers.
April 10, 2017 – As of 4/10, we have had no female codling moth or scale crawlers.
April 3, 2017 – We set the first biofix for codling moth at 4/3 in an Ashley walnut orchard just south of Red Bluff. The next event for codling moth will be female catch which we will use to estimate first egg hatch. The San Jose scale biofix for 3/30 came from almonds.
March 27, 2017 – The oriental fruit moth (OFM) biofix came from an almond orchard south of Red Bluff. We trapped one male. A codling moth (CM) was trapped on 3/20 in Ashley walnut. There has been little to no CM flight activity in the cool wet weather.
